LA FEDERACIÓ DE CINECLUBS DE LA INDIA FESTEJA ELS 100 ANYS DE CINEMA DEL SEU PAIS

We are happy to inform you that the Federation of Film Societies of India is celebrating 100 Years of Indian Cinema in collaboration with Nandan from 5th to 10th June 2013. During the inaugural program on 5th June Wednesday at 5.30 pm, FFSI will felicitate the film personalities Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Amalashankar, Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Girish Kasaravalli, Madhabi Mukhopadhyay, Purnima Dutta, Ramananda Sengupta, Soumendu Roy, Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Shyam Benegal, Tarun Majumder and Vijya Mulay with "Satyajit Ray Memorial Honor" for their extraordinary contributions to Indian Cinema. Kiran V Shantaram, President of FFSI, will confer the Honor to the recipients.

A festival of Indian films by the great masters will be organized on this occasion. Films to be shown in the festival are: Aparajito (Satyajit Ray), Titash Ekti Nadir Nam (Ritwik Ghatak), Baishe Sraban (Mrinal Sen), Naalu Pennungal (Adoor Gopalakrishnan), Do Ankhe Bara Haat (V Shantaram), Kalpana (Udayshankar), Jhinder Bandi (Tapan Sinha), Palatak (Tarun Mazumder / Yatrik), Charachar (Buddhadeb Dasgupta) and Koormavatar (Girish Kasaravalli).

On 10th June Monday 5.00 pm, there will be a seminar where the eminent film scholars and teachers Mihir Bhattacharjee, Putul Mahmood and Shankarlal Bhattachayya will speak on 100 Years of Indian Cinema. Film critic Siladitya Sen will moderate. Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s Documentary film on Ganesh Payne will be screened after the seminar.
